Annamalai Tears Into DMK’s “Dravida Model” Posture
In a strongly worded address, BJP leader K. Annamalai launches a sharp critique of the ruling DMK, questioning the credibility and outcomes of its much-publicised “Dravida Model” of governance. He argues that the model is being projected as a political slogan rather than a measurable development framework, and accuses the government of relying on propaganda while key sectors such as law and order, governance standards, and economic growth require deeper attention.
Annamalai contrasts the DMK’s claims with what he describes as ground realities, highlighting issues faced by common citizens and alleging that corruption, dynastic politics, and administrative inefficiencies continue to persist. He also challenges the ideological positioning of the Dravidian narrative, stating that social justice and inclusive growth should be reflected in tangible results rather than in rhetoric.
Positioning himself as a voice of accountability, he calls for transparent governance, performance-based politics, and a development model that can be objectively evaluated. The speech is framed as part of a broader political effort to present an alternative vision for Tamil Nadu’s future.
