THE REDISCOVERY OF BHARAT

When the India  is poised  to make great  strides  under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and become the third largest economic power globally in the coming years, it is  natural that nationalists prefer to return to the original name of the country- BHARAT, as a mark of respect and celebrations to our glorious past  besides a better National identity.!

Pandit Hon. Prime Minster Jawaharlal Nehro  wrote “ Discovery of India” when ‘India ‘was existing under British rule. No doubt Nehruji’s ‘Discovery of India is a landmark contribution.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “ REDISCOVERY OF BHARAT’ is not just a narrative but a real action programme which includes historic achievements like – Ayodya, Kashi, Article 370, measures for common civil code and many others besides bold initiatives for eradication of terrorism, corruption, dynastic politics, justice for farmers, women, rural poor, thrust on technology up gradation, development, growth, employment generation, elevating the Nation from 10 th in 2914, to 5 now among the developed Nation. Global experts predict that country will further push forward under Shri Modi’s leadership- only  to be next to China, USA in the near future. When the India  is poised  to make strides  under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and become the third economic power globally in the coming years, it I natural that nationalists prefer to return to the original name of the country- BHARAT!, as a mark of respect and celebrations to our glorious past besides   a better National identity.!

What makes Shri Modi unique is his vision for bringing back the glory of Bharat. That fulfils the Nations freedom struggle under Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and the aspirations of our population groups in the country which makes the largest populated country in the World. It is appropriate that the country is now ‘rediscovered’ and Bharat  is the real identity. Of course, India will continue to remain as a token of the colonial history. Precisely , we Cherish Bharat and we continue to love India-that is Bharat!

INDIA & BHARAT

The term “India” finds its roots in the ancient name of the Sindhu (or Indus) River. It was the Greeks who, in the 5th century BCE, began using this nomenclature to refer to the land beyond the river. By the 9th century, Old English literature mentioned “India”, and by the 17th century, the term had comfortably nestled into Modern English.

Bharat is derived from ancient Sanskrit literature, specifically the Mahabharata, symbolizing the descendants of the mythical King Bharat. The roots of “Bharat” go deep into Indian history, embedded in Hindu epics like the Ramayana and Puranic literature.  The name BHARAT still holds a significant place in Indian culture., despite the British effort to ‘Indianise’ the counytry’s  traditional strong side.

Understanding why the British named Bharat as India can offer insights into the wholesome history and the ‘edge’ of India in the post-Independence led by the National branding, by the official, commercial and foreign sources. Slogans like “Be Indian Buy Indian” put the ‘Indian spirit’ o the high  social pedestal . However ‘BHARAT” .continued to have its unquestionable merit of being the original and effectively connecyed with Religion for its divine sanctity. ‘BHARAT’ always remained as the livewire of emotional connect. ‘BHARAT MATHAKI JAI” has no parallel,

The “BHARAT JUDO YATHRA” taken up ambitiously by Shri Rahul Gandhi, Member of Parliament, is a recent significant addition to the Bharat bag!

Even people who think that  name ‘India’ is modern and fashionable missed no opportunity to jump to ‘BHARAT’ when it comes to connecting with the people of this holy land. The “BHARAT JUDO YATHRA” taken up ambitiously by Shri Rahul Gandhi, Member of Parliament is a recent significant addition to the Bharat bag!

Changing a country’s name isn’t exclusive to India. Numerous nations have, for various reasons, adopted new names, depending upon varied reasons and social opportunities to have a ‘ new look’ on National pride. ( input bsed on certain informations from  WIKIPEDIA)-la Gopa
